Double tank with Sidemount diving

PADI Sidemount Specialty

Unlike Backmount (tank on the back), Sidemount involves wearing a tank on each side. It may take some getting used to, but it offers numerous advantages:

  • No heavy tank on your back.

  • Twice as much air.

  • Flexibility.

  • Improved streamlining.

In addition to discovering the many benefits of diving with a sidemount configuration, you will also learn during a pool session and three open water dives:

  • How to properly assemble and configure sidemount dive gear.

  • How to adjust your weight system and sidemount equipment for perfect buoyancy.

  • How to manage gas supply when diving with two tanks, including transitioning to the second regulator.

  • How to respond effectively to potential issues during sidemount dives.

It's no longer necessary to carry tanks on your back when exploring the underwater world. Many divers have embraced the convenience and enjoyment of diving with tanks at their sides instead of on their backs. Sidemount diving offers flexibility and opportunities to streamline yourself. Plus, you won't have to lug heavy tanks on your back - just enter the water, clip them in, and you're ready for adventure!

This specialty is available to divers aged 15 and above and lasts 1.5 days. Let double tanks double your diving fun!
